Known as an author and competitive fly fisher Devin had fished against Lance Egan and Ryan Barnes in the former Outdoor Life Network’s Fly Fishing Master’s in 2004. Devin was selected to be on Fly Fishing Team USA in 2006. 2017 was Devin’s 9th consecutive year on Team USA. Winner of an individual bronze medal in 2015. Devin holds a bachelor’s degree in ecology and a master’s degree in fisheries science and spent 3 years working as a fisheries biologist.

Our guest speaker is Sean Crocker, a Bucks County resident, Member of the US Fly Fishing Team, President and Captain of Team Freestone a competitive Pennsylvania based fly-fishing team since 2009. Sean has fished around the globe, from the tip of the Baja Peninsula to the Arctic Circle.
Fly-Fishing still water of lakes and ponds for trout has been a subject many members have been requesting more information about.
Come out to the meeting and start your Thanksgiving holiday with a fishing program.

DVFF 2019 Holiday Dinner

Remember we do not hold a general meeting in the month of December.  Enjoy the holidays with fellow members attending the dinner and bring a small fishing related item to donate to our raffle prize table.  There will be many raffle prizes and gift certificates to win.  This is the Delaware Valley Fly Fisher’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Meeting Wednesday Sept. 25 – Stripers on the fly

John FieldJohn’s presentation contains photos of bass up to fifty pounds on the fly and shows the seasonal striper movements from the Carolinas to Maine, tackle and techniques to target big bass.  “John Field is a writer, conservationist, FFI Master Casting Instructor and Jay Gammel Award recipient.
John was a cameraman and co-producer of Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg.
He is past-president of the New York City Chapter of Trout Unlimited and past president of the ACA (American Casting Association). John is author of two books; Fly-Casting Finesse, Skyhorse Publishing, 2015 and ACA’s Beginner’s Guide to Fly Casting, Skyhorse Books 2018. He is currently working on another book titled, Trophy Striped Bass on the Fly, Stackpole Books, (coming in 2020). John’s feature articles have been published in Fly Fisherman magazine and many others. Visit his website

Fundraising Event Monday August 19th at Texas Roadhouse Bensalem

DVFF are excited to announce yet another night out at Texas Roadhouse in Bensalem (1545 Street Road)

The event will take place on August 19th, 2019 from 4pm-10pm.
10% of your bill is donated to the club, so the more people that attend, the more money we receive as a whole!
As always, there will be raffle baskets as you enter, so make sure to keep an eye open to win some prizes! While there, please make sure to sign in as well.
You need a copy of the flyer in order to receive the benefits towards the club. I’ve attached a digital copy, so feel free to show your waiter/waitress on your phone, or print out a physical copy. Either works!
If you can’t make it to the event, but still want to help out, we have the option of pre-purchasing a gift card that will count towards our overall bill. In order to do so, please submit your payment prior to the date to Steve Wermuth, who will buy your card during the event!
Orders to go (takeout) will also be applicable towards our bill, but must be purchased within our window of 4-10pm (flyer is still needed)
