Join us on April 27 as the Delaware Valley Fly Fishers will feature the return of Henry Ramsey. Henry previously wrote a book “Matching Major Eastern Hatches, New Patterns for Selective Trout” which focuses on PA and east coast fly hatches. His book also contains various flies for Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. Henry also is a fly fishing guide and has fished Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York and Colorado just to name the a few.
Henry, will talk about the best flies for Pennsylvania streams. Also his experiences the places he has traveled. Last time he had copies of his book for sale.

Join us on Saturday April 23 as Delaware Valley Fly Fishers are having our annual learn to fish on the river event. Join us on the Little Lehigh River in Allentown, minutes from Dorney Park. As we have a full day of instruction and fishing. The morning begins with instruction, followed by casting lessons and then fishing on the river. Also included with your registration is a picnic lunch. Our day begins at 10 am and will continue to 4 pm. Fishing is under the eye of a certified casting instructor and other experienced fly fishers.
We will be meeting near the Heritage Fly shop. The shop most likely will be open (FYI they do not accept credit cards) Close by the local fish hatchery and the event is held Rain or shine. (Hopefully no snow) .
Cost is free for DVFF member and $50.00 per person for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required. To register contact Wayne Raydel at 215-280-7198. In addition, a Current PA Fishing license with trout stamp is required in order to participate in this event.

If you are new to fly fishing or want to check it out and learn more, Join us on March 26, as we get ready for the fishing season. This one day session is a prelude to the annual learn to fish on the water day, held this year on April 23. DVFF is lucky to have certified casting instructors and guides who will help new and experienced fly fishers go over there skills. There will be a casting clinic, along with and other instruction about fly fishing such as type of flies to use . Also This a great time to socialize and to find people who are interested in fly fishing.
This one day class begins at 10 am and runs all day. Lunch is provided for all who attend. There is a $25.00 fee for non-members..

For all those who are new to fly fishing and all want to learn more. Delaware Valley Fly Fishers will hold its introduction to Fly Fishing instructional class on Saturday March 26th from 10:00am – 4:00pm. This is a great day to learn the basics of fly fishing. Some of the items we go over include e flies (wet, dry, nymphs, streamers), ways to fish (wet method vs dry method), and even have casting demonstrations and instruction. Beyond that it is a great way to make friends and a good day to get out and have fun before trout season begins.
Cost is free for club members and $25.00 for non-members. We are asking all who plan to attend to register so can allocate presenters and instructors accordingly.

Join us this month as hear a presentation from Ken McDaniel. Ken is a new member of Delaware Valley Fly Fishers. However, Ken visited the Green River in Utah and has created a program introducing us to this famous fishing location. The Green River is located just below the Flaming Gorge Dam, and is renowned for its Browns, Cutthroat, Rainbow and Hybrids Trout. Also, the green river is known for its number of fish per mile.
Ken is a new member to DVFF. He brings a new perspective on Fly-fishing unlike ones that we have heard previously.
